A brisk walk is recommended, but any pace will still help.

Another simple habit that can help support overall health is stretching in the morning and before bed. Start with a 5-minute goal.
Little Health Tricks: Walking After Meals
Hello everybody, this is Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place, and I want to talk to you a little bit about some simple health tricks to help keep us healthy long-term. One of my favorites is taking a short walk after your meals.
We actually have a lot of data showing the impact this can have on blood sugar levels. Typically, if you take a 10-minute walk within 30 minutes of finishing a meal, you can cause a 10–20 point drop in your blood sugar level—just from walking for 10 minutes.
If you walk for 15 minutes, that average drop can increase to 20–30 points. And if you take a 30-minute walk, you can see a 25–40 point reduction in your average blood sugar level, simply from taking a brisk walk after eating.
This gentle movement helps open up your body’s cells to bring in the sugar entering your bloodstream from digestion. It also aids digestion itself. So even a short, consistent walk—once or twice a day after meals—can make a big difference.
Multiply that habit over 5, 10, or 15 years, and it can have a major impact on your overall health by keeping blood sugar levels stable and supporting healthy digestion.
Even a 10-minute walk after eating can help. And if you have time for more, that’s fantastic—it will make an even bigger long-term difference.
